Cormac Ryan was crowned Dublin’s Poc Fada champion last Friday evening as the Whitehall Colmcille’s player overcame nine participants to land the inaugural competition at the picturesque Beann Eadair club – Ryan completed the testing course in 29 shots.

The former Dublin minor and U21 goalkeeper will now go forward to represent the county in the Leinster competition in a fortnight’s time and his excellence over the tough terrain shone through on a wonderful evening of entertainment and skill.

The historical competition is going through a rejuvenation at present under the guidance of national chairperson Humphrey Kelleher.
Dean Flood finished second, taking 30 shots to complete the course.
